A new Tweet by Indian Oil's states that fuel tank of your bike an explode when full in summers is a myth.

Summers are finally here, and the month June has already begun. June is among the hottest of the year, and it's quite difficult for those who drive during the scorching afternoon. People get very careful during summers and try to save themselves from heat stroke and other hazards which rise over, due to raised temperatures. One thing which remains the same in every summer season is a fake message which gets flooded over the internet and misguides people ‘Do not full your fuel tanks to full capacity in summers. It may blast’. This message circulated over the country quite seriously and, it is considered to be a real maniac. The image embedded below is a poster circulated which states that do not fill your tanks up to the brim to prevent explosion during summers.

We don't know why these types of messages circulated every year during summer. Actually, these messages make no sense at all please don't take these messages seriously. It's true that high atmospheric temperature can affect your car or bike in a severe way but, it’s not possible for a tank full of fuel could blast. After these fake allegations and rumours which misguides people, attained a height of insanity previous year. The Indian Oil's official Twitter handle tweets regarding the same issue last year which states that "It is perfectly safe to fill the fuel in vehicles up to the limit (max.) as specified by the manufacturer irrespective of winter or summer".

 It's true that high atmospheric temperature can affect your car or bike in a severe way but, it’s not possible for a tank full of fuel could blast.

Moreover, an image of a burnt Royal Enfield bike which is roaming over the internet clearly shows that a mishap happens to someone. Many people are sharing this image by telling the motorcycle was burnt because the fuel tank was full and the bike exploded into ashes. Some offensive messages state that the rider was burnt along with the bike. This rumour is originated from the advice of keeping tyre pressure low during summers because air increases as the temperature around it get hotter.
