Suzuki Katana Makes Debut At The Auto Expo 2020

Apart from BS-VI compliant line-up, the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Suzuki has also showcased the all-new neo-retro bike namely Katana at the Auto Expo 2020.

Apart from BS-VI compliant line-up, the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Suzuki has also showcased the all-new neo-retro bike namely Katana at the Auto Expo 2020. The all-new Suzuki Katana was first showcased at the 2018 Intermot Show in Germany. Many of you may know that Suzuki Katana was one of the most popularly known sport-touring bike, which was retailed by from 1980 to 1990. The all-new model of the motorcycle gets squarish LED headlamp at the front, which is a tribute to its older model. In terms of looks, the all-new Suzuki Katana looks quite similar to its predecessor, but the reborn variant is based on the Suzuki GSX-S1000F.

The all-new Suzuki Katana gets propelled by an in-line four-cylinder, 999 cc engine that produces 147 PS of power at 10,000 rpm and 105 Nm of twisting force of 9,500 rpm. The all-new model also shares the twin-spar aluminium frame from the Suzuki GSX-S1000F. The suspension duties are done by KYB 43 mm fully-adjustable upside-down forks at the front and a link-type monoshock at the rear. The braking system comprises of Brembo disc brakes with radial callipers at the front and rear, the braking system is benefitted by a dual-channel ABS for effective braking. It offers features like a coloured fully-digital instrument console and three-level switchable traction control. Moreover, the Suzuki Katana has an overall kerb weight of 215 kg.

We expect that Suzuki will sell this bike in India through CKD route

The Japanese bikemaker wants to measure the interest of customers for the Suzuki Katana bu showcasing it at the Auto Expo 2020. If the bikemaker gets a significant response from the Indian customers, they can launch the motorcycle into the Indian market by the end of this year. We expect that Suzuki will sell this bike in India through CKD route. The all-new Suzuki Katana is manufactured at the Hamamatsu facility in Japan.
