Bajaj Chetak Electric Launched At Rs 1 lakh

The Indian two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj has finally launched the Chetak electric. The scooter is introduced in two different variants namely- Urbane and Premium, both the scooters are priced between Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.15 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Bajaj Chetak Urbane is offered in two colour shades, while the top-spec Premium trim will get retailed in four different paint options. The bikemaker has reintroduced Chetak into the Indian Indian market with some modern design cues along with a few advanced features. Bajaj Chetak is the company’s first pure electric two-wheeler.

The scooter derives power from a 4kW electric motor, and it also features two different riding modes such as- Eco and Sport.

In one full charge, the Eco mode offers a maximum range of 95 km, and in Sports mode, 85 km is the maximum range. The electric scooter also employs a 3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which is non-removable. Both the electric motors are IP67 rated, and they offer a combined torque of 16 Nm. Bajaj Chetak electric gets an in-built charger, and the electric scooter can be charged from a normal 5-ampere power outlet. It takes five hours for the scooter to charge from 0 to 100 per cent, while the battery charges to 25 per cent in one hour.

The two-wheeler manufacturer is also offering home-charging station that will also display the amount of energy consumed in charging. Illumination duties are performed by an all-LED headlight at the front along with LED DRLs. It also gets illuminated switchgear, glovebox and 12-inch alloy wheels. Chetak electric features a dedicated smartphone app, which will help you track down your vehicle and can also locate or track the electric scooter. The scooter will get produced at the company’s facility in Chakan, Pune.  Initially, Bajaj will offer Chetak electric in Pune and Bengaluru.
