The Indian two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj has sent out media invitations for 14th January. We expect that the bikemaker is planning to launch the Chetak electric because, on the unveiling event, Bajaj made a statement that they will launch the electric scooter in January 2020.

Many details regarding the electric scooter were revealed by Bajaj in October 2019, when Bajaj unveiled the Chetak in Delhi. Moreover, at the unveiling event, Bajaj has also flagged off the Chetak Yatra in which 20 Chetak scooters have to cover a journey of 3,000 km from Northern to Western India. All the riders travelled from Delhi to Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur, Chetak Samarak in Chittorgarh, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Panji before reaching Pune on 14th November 2019 where the Chetak electric ride ended. Before getting rolled out in other cities, initially, Bajaj will launch the Chetak electric in Pune and Bengaluru.

Moreover, Bajaj has no such plans to launch the electric scooter in international markets soon. Bajaj wants to offer the Chetak electric throughout the country before taking it internationally. The Chetak electric will rival with the likes of Ather 450. The upcoming Bajaj Chetak electric employs a retro design language which is equipped with some modern hardware like LED headlamp and taillights, backlit switchgear and a Bluetooth enabled instrument panel. Bajaj will also launch an app for smartphones which will keep a track on ride history along with with track the vehicle feature.

The Bajaj electric scooter will get a steel body. The scooter will be offered in six vibrant colour shades.
