Aprilia SXR 125 Maxi-Scooter In Making
The Italian bikemaker Piaggio unveiled the Aprilia SXR 160 maxi-scooter at the Auto Expo 2020. Bike Dekho says that the company is planning to introduce a smaller 125cc scooter named as SXR 125. The upcoming Aprilia SXR 125 and Aprilia SXR 160 will share some connection with the Aprilia SR 125 and Aprilia SR 160. This simply means that both the scooters will share some design cues along with mechanical specs with the ongoing Aprilia SR scooters. The Aprilia SXR 125 is expected to get propelled by a 125cc, fuel-injected motor, which puts out 10 PS of power at 7,700 rpm and 9.7 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The design of the upcoming Aprilia SXR 125 will be similar to that of the newly showcased SXR 160. It will features LED lighting along with a fully-digital instrument console with smartphone connectivity options.

Shock absorption duties will be performed by telescopic forks up front and a shock absorber at the back. The upcoming Aprilia SXR 125 will roll on 12-inch wheels instead of the bigger 14-inch wheels offered with the SXR 160. For enhanced braking, the scooter will employ disc brake at the front and drum brake at the rear. Talking about the pricing of the scooter, one can expect the upcoming Aprilia SXR 125 could be 10-15 thousand more expensive than the ongoing Aprilia SR 125. The Aprilia SXR 125 will rival with likes of Suzuki Burgman Street.

The ongoing Aprilia SR 125 is offered in two different trims namely- STD and CBS (combi-brake system). The STD trim is priced at Rs 71,360 (ex-showroom, Delhi). On the other hand, the CBS variant carries a price tag of Rs 74,027 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It derives power from an air-cooled, single-cylinder, 125 cc mill that produces power and torque outputs of 9.6 PS and 9.9 Nm. The transmission duties are performed by a CVT gearbox.
