Bajaj Domimar 400 is India's first bike to finish Arctic to Antartic ride
The Bajaj Dominar 400 is one of the most well-rounded bikes in its segment. The motorcycle has recently completed the ‘Polar Odyssey - Arctic to Antarctic’ which took the Dominar on a 51,000 km journey starting from the Arctic Circle to Antartic Circle. The ride was ended by January 2019, post riding for 99 days. This ride was done by three Indian guys namely Deepak Gupta, Avinash PS and Deepak Kamath. The Bajaj Dominar 400 which these three riders were riding was slightly tuned and, now it becomes the first bike to complete this Journey. The Polar Odessey commenced on July 2018 in Pune. Afterwards, the motorcycles were transported to the starting point of the expedition in the Arctic Circle. The riders rode from Anchorage to Tuktoyaktuk, and then to Ushuaia, Argentina.

The bikers travelled through the routes which are deemed to be most dangerous in the world such as James Dalton, Pan America and Dempster highways. The route even comprised the infamous death road of Bolivia. This journey was managed by Deepak Kamath. This journey covered as many as 15 countries and a total of 3 continents. The temperatures through the trip ranged from -22 deg Celsius to 54 deg Celsus. The Dominar 400 completed the expedition without a single break down. The motorcycles were tuned to counter the terrains and situations that the participating bikes would meet during their ride. Up front, the bike replaces the conventional mudguard with an ADV-motorcycle-inspired beak, a large fly screen, a new seat and hand guards.
Bajaj reports that the temperature of some places went as low as -22 deg C and as high as 54 deg C.
Moreover, it employed panniers, all-weather tyres and jerry cans. Rest, the motorcycles remained completely in the stock condition. Mechanically, the bikes remain unchanged it gets powered by the same 373.27cc, 3-cylinder mill which develops 39.4 bhp of power at 8,650 rpm and 35 of twisting force at 7,000 rpm. The powerplant is married to a 6-speed transmission.
