13 Forgotten TVS bikes from IND-Suzuki AX100R to TVS Max

Here are the 13 iconic TVS bikes which are not remembered by many of us, from TVS-Suzuki AX100R to TVS Max.

TVS motor company is one of the oldest two-wheeler manufacturers in India and the brand has a long rich history. The company was first founded in the year 1978 and the company started its business with a two-seater moped, which was named as TVS 80.  Afterwards, TVS came into partnership with the Japanese bikemaker Suzuki and offered some several astonishing bikes, but in 2001 both companies get separated. TVS is named after its founder Thirukkurungudi Vengaram Sundaram Iyengar, the brand sold alot of bike to the Indian commuter and there are several bikes which are not remembered by many of us. So, here are 13 forgotten bikes which were launched by TVS long back.

1) IND-Suzuki AX100R

The IND-Suzuki AX100R is the first bike rolled out after the TVS and Suzuki partnership. The bike was mainly launched to target the commuter segment and, it was powered by a 100cc engine which cranks out 8.25 bhp of power. The Suzuki AX100R was discontinued in 2008 along with the Max 100R, which was the last two-stroke bike by the brand in India.

2) TVS-Suzuki Supra

After the TVS AX100, the brand planned to launch something more sporty and smart looking. The TVS-Suzuki Supra was the sportier version of the AX100R. The bike employs some unique and attractive looking graphics along with the more powerful mill. The bike sports a 98.2cc, two-stroke motor which develops power outputs of 9.2 bhp and 9.6 Nm.

3) Suzuki Samurai

This was another smart-looking bike from both these companies. The bike was launched in 1994 and, it was marketed as "no problem" bike. Powering the bike is a 2-stroke, 98.2cc engine which develops power and torque outputs of 7.5 bhp and 9.8 Nm.  The bike was mainly launched to target the youth.

4) TVS Fiero

Not as fiery as the name suggests, but TVS Fiero is one of the most fun to bikes of its segment. This bike was the brand's first four-stroke 150cc bike. It bike gets propelled by a 147.5cc, four-stroke mill which produces 11.8 bhp of power and 10.5 Nm of twisting force. The TVS Fiero was launched in India by 2005 and become quite popular. The bike was a fun city riding motorcycle.

5) TVS Fiero F2

After the popularity of TVS Fiero, the company decided to launch the Fiero F2 in India. TVS Fiero F2 was the upgraded version of the Fiero. This bike was upgraded cosmetically as well as mechanically. The bike is powered by a single-cylinder, 147.5cc, which puts out 12 bhp of power and 11.3 Nm of peak torque.

After the popularity of TVS Fiero, the company decided to launch the Fiero F2 in India.

6) TVS Fiero FX

The Fiero FX was the retro-looking version of the regular Fiero. This model was mainly launched to compete against Bajaj Pulsar, which was one of the best selling bikes of those times. Expect these cosmetical upgrades the bike remains unchanged mechanically.

7) Suzuki Shogun

This bike got quite popular when it was launched in our markets. The bike rubs its shoulders against Yamaha 100, the Shogan is more powerful but the bike was quite heavy too. This bike was jointly prepared by TVS and Suzuki. The bike is powered by a two-stroke 108cc engine which makes 14 bhp of power.

8) TVS shaolin

Suzuki Shaolin was launched by the joint venture in 1998. This bike was next launched after the Shogun and Samurai. Powering the bike was a two-stroke, 138.2cc engine which churns out power and torque outputs of 11.5 bhp and 12.3 Nm. This bike was being offered with best in class power and torque figures.

9) TVS Centra

TVS Centra was not able to do wonders for the company in terms of sales. It gets propelled by a 99.8cc, four-stroke engine which makes 7.5 bhp of power and 7.5 Nm of twisting force. This motorcycle was not able to grab buyers attention despite it was rated to offer an impressive mileage of 68kmpl. The bike was marketed into the Indian market by highlighting the new engine technology.

10) TVS Jive

This motorcycle was India's first semi-automatic bike. The TVS Jive is featured with a clutchless transmission which makes the gearshifting process quite effortless and hassle-free. Moreover, the bike does not have a clutch lever. The Jive draws power from a 109.7cc unit which makes 8 bhp and 8 Nm.

11) TVS Victor GL

TVS Victor GL was one of the popularly known Victor models. The bike was first introduced in 2003 and had become a big hit in our markets. The motorcycle derives power from a much reliable 4-stroke, 109cc engine which develops power and torque of 8 bhp and 8 Nm.

12) TVS Pheonix

TVS Pheonix was among the recently launched bikes in our list. Launched in 2012, TVS Pheonix is the premium-commuter motorcycle. The bike comes loaded with features like tubeless tyres, fully-digital instrument cluster, 240 mm roto-petal disc at the front along with spring suspension.

13) TVS Max

The TVS Max was a retro-looking commuter bike which features chrome finished round headlamp. Powering the bike is a 4-stroke, 109.7cc engine which powers the several TVS bikes. The engine cranks out power and torque outputs of 8.20 bhp and 8.5 Nm. TVS also introduced a variant of this bike which employs a mobile charger and became quite popular.
