The Yamaha YZF R1 is the only fully-faired litre-class motorcycle offered by the Japanese bikemaker. The bike sports sharp and aggressive looks. The design language of the bike is inspired by the company’s MotoGP race bike, YZR-M1. The motorcycle features projector headlamps, an LED taillight, ABS, wheelie control, slide control, unified braking system, traction control, IMU and a fully-digital instrument console. Powering Yamaha YZF R1 is a four-cylinder, 998 cc, liquid-cooled motor that produces 194.3 bhp and 112.4 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are done by a 6-speed gearbox.

The Yamaha YZF R1 retails at Rs 20.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Anchoring duties are performed by telescopic front forks and swingarm suspension at the back. To counter the uneven surfaces, Yamaha YZF R1 employs a 320 mm disc brake up front and a 220 mm disc brake at the rear along with a dual-channel ABS for added safety. The motorcycle is offered in two different colour shades namely- Tech Black and Yamaha Blue.
