KTM Duke 390 vs 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 drag race

KTM Duke 390 is the fastest and the most powerful bike in its segment. On the other hand, the Bajaj Dominar 400 is also inspired by Duke's engine but, it comes in different states of tune. KTM Duke 390 and Bajaj Dominar 400 are strong contenders. And recently Bajaj has also launched the updated version of the Dominar 400 which offers a more powerful engine. Here is a new video by a YouTube channel- Ride with Rahul. The guy has published a video which is drag race between updated 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 and 2013 KTM Duke 390.

In this video, the riders have conducted two rounds of the drag race to check the capabilities of both the motorcycles. In the first round as soon as the race starts both the riders release their clutch and accelerate the motorcycles. The KTM Duke picks up really fast and wins the race with a fraction of seconds. Afterwards, for the second round both the riders change their motorcycle to check how much rider weight matters in a drag race. Now the Duke is ridden by a heavier rider while the Dominar is ridden by a lightweight rider. When the second round begins, the Dominor takes the lead for a couple of seconds which was quite surprising afterwards the KTM Duke overtakes the Bajaj Dominar 400 again and wins the race. So, the results are pretty fair the KTM Duke 390 still remains the fastest motorcycle in its segment. And yes, rider weight does matter during a drag race.

Powering the KTM Duke 390 is a 373cc, liquid cooled mill which develops 43.5hp of power at 9500rpm and 37 Nm at 7000 rpm. On the other hand, the 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 churns out respective power and torque outputs of 39.4hp and 35 Nm. The transmission duties are done by a 6-speed gearbox. The Bajaj Dominar 400 is efficient to return a mileage of 27 kmpl. On the other hand, the KTM Duke 390 returns a mileage of 25 kmpl.
