Hero Splendor is company's first BS6 compliant motorcycle

Hero Motocorp is India's one of the biggest two-wheeler manufacturer and, Hero Splendor iSmart has become the brand's first bike to get updated with the BS6 compliant motor. After a successful test, the motorcycle has also got the BS6 certification from the International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT). The strict BS6 emission norms will came into action by April 2020. After this, only the BS6 ready vehicles will be allowed to get retailed in the market. The production of the BS6 Splendor iSmart BS6 will initiate soon. The company has to send prototypes to the three test agencies namely CAT, ARAI and GARC before production. After getting successfully tested and certified, the manufacturer can begin manufacturing of that model.

Every vehicle in India has to pass this test to get proper certification. Moreover, any manufacturer in India sells more than 2500 units of a vehicle, needs to get the same certification from a government approved agency. The all-new Hero Splendor iSmart has been made in-house by the developers. The BS6 compliant bike manufactured by Hero’s R&D hub, the Centre of Innovative and Technology located in Jaipur. Powering the Hero Splendor iSmart is a 109.5cc petrol unit, which develops 9.3 bhp of power at 7,500 rpm and 9 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. The engine comes paired with a 4-speed gearbox. The engine is fuel-efficient to provide a mileage of 40 kmpl. The bikes come available in four smart colours namely Blue and Black, Red and Black, Silver and Blac, sports Red.

The suspension system comprises of a Telescopic Hydraulic Shock Absorbers at the front along with a Swing Arm with Adjustable Hydraulic Shock Absorber at the rear. The motorcycle also features I3s tech in which your motorcycle will automatically shut down while standing at the halt and one can easily ignite it up just by pulling the clutch.
