Harley-Davidson will sponsor the Formula E team

Harey-Davidson has now become the sponsor for the Envision Racing Team to promote itself into the EV space.

This sounds quite unusual that American motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson is now a sponsor for a Formula E team. Envision Racing Team is one of the most renowned names in the FIA Formula E series and it currently acquired 2nd position in the constructor’s championship. The racing team is just seven points clear of the top, with driver Robin Frijns leading the drivers’ standings. It was quite surprising for all of us when five years back Harley announced its first all-electric motorcycle, the Livewire. The official unveiling of the production-ready bike earlier this year and afterwards, their involvement in sports simply signifies that the brand is promoting itself into the EV market.  Harley Davidson sponsorship details are still unknown. But, the American manufacturer has joined has with some popularly known brands such as Virgin, Kaspersky Lab, Audi Sport and Alpinestars. The Harley-Davidson will get launched by 2020. The motorcycle is ready for pre-ordering in the US for $29,799 (about Rs 21 lakh) with deliveries expected in the second half of CY2019.
