31/07/2019 |Ducati Multistrada
The upcoming Ducati Multistrada V4 has been spied getting tested somewhere in Italy in a fully camouflaged state

A fully camouflaged test unit of the upcoming V4 motor equipped Ducati Multistrada has been spotted during test runs in Italy. Ducati first employed this engine in its Panigale and the naked streetfighter range. Now, the company is planning to put its Desmosedici Stradale V4 mill on the off-road spec Multistrada range. A short video surfaced over the internet, gives a swift sight of the upcoming-gen bike and as compared to the on-going model, the bike doesn't seem to be changed a lot.

This test mule is an early prototype and we expect to see some more changes as the progress goes on.

When Ducati upgraded the Multistrada 1200 into 1260, there were some subtle cosmetical upgrades made on the bike. The same slight design tweaks are expected to be done on the all-new V4 equipped bike. Thus, the motorcycle will come loaded with features like a twin-pod LED headlamp cluster up front, a semi-fairing design along with a coloured LCD digital instrument cluster. We expect to see some modifications to the fairing design for more satisfying airflow to the motor.

The single-sided swingarm and the rear section of the bike look quite identical to the Multistrada 1260 while the exhaust looks visibly different. This test mule is the early prototype of the bike and, we expect to see some more changes as the progress goes on. As compared to the current-gen bike the muffler design is taller and, the canister of the upcoming motorcycle also gets an upswept design. The all-new Ducati Multistrada V4 will continue to get its touring ergonomics by featuring tall-set footpegs and handlebar. The bike will get 17-inch wheels on both the ends and the Enduro version will employ 19-inch unit at the front along with numerous other upgrades.

The all-new Ducati Multistrada V4 will continue to get its touring ergonomics by featuring tall-set footpegs and handlebar.

The all-new Ducati off-roader will get offered in three different variants namely- Standard, S and Pikes Peak. Powering all three Multistrada models will be 1103cc, Desmosedici Stradale 90° V4, liquid-cooled mill, which is expected to churn out power outputs between 170-180 bhp. The ongoing Ducati Multistrada 1260 develops power and torque outputs of 158 bhp and 129.5 Nm. This means that the all new V4 Desmosedici Stradale engine is capable of producing out more power compared to the ongoing model.
