The entry-level commuter bike segment in India is popularly sold because they are well-efficient on providing good mileage figures. This bike segment has become highly competitive because most of the bike makers are offering bikes with best in class fuel efficiency. So, the best bike in this segment offers a mileage of 60-80 kmpl. This is why buyers have a lot of options now but, this is confusing too because it gets quite difficult for the buyers to select one option. So, here we are with the 8 commuter bikes which offer best in class fuel-efficient figures.

Bikes with mileage above 80 kmpl

1) Bajaj CT100 B (76-80 kmpl)

The first bike in our list of Bikes with mileage above 80 kmpl is the Bajaj CT100 B, which is the most affordable bike in its segment, which is rated to provide a mileage of 70 to 80 kmpl. The bike competes against the likes of Hero Splendor and Hero CD Dawn. The motorcycle is being offered with features like SNS rear suspension. But the bike misses out DTSi tech and, it produces slightly less power than the Platina. 2) TVS Star City Plus

The TVS Star City Plus is the most fuel-efficient bike in the company's portfolio. The real-world mileage of the bike recorded at 80 kmpl, which is quite impressive. The bike is offered in four different variants namely Electric Start MAG- SBT, Electric Start MAG Gold- SBT, Dual Tone- SBT and Kick Start MAG priced between Rs 46,088 to Rs 53,891 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Powering the Star City Plus is a 109cc motor which cranks out power and torque figures of 8.3 bhp and 8.7 Nm.

The bike is offered in four different variants namely Electric Start MAG- SBT, Electric Start MAG Gold- SBT, Dual Tone- SBT and Kick Start MAG.

3) Yamaha Saluto RX

The Japanese bikemaker Yamaha has also preserved a place in the entry-level commuter segment. The company offers Yamaha Saluto RX which is fun to ride a motorcycle. This bike is a fuel-efficient as well as a reliable commuter bike which gets propelled by a 110 cc engine. The motor churns out power and torque outputs of 7 bhp and 8.5 Nm. The engine is fuel-efficient to deliver a mileage of 80 kmpl. The bike offered with two different variants such as Standard- USB at Rs 53,080 and Darknight- USB at Rs 54,080. The Saluto RX is the only Yamaha model in our list of Bikes with mileage above 80 kmpl

4) TVS Sport

TVS Sport is another basic TVS commuter bike which is highly reliable and efficient too. The bike can offer a mileage of 80 kmpl in real-world conditions. The bike is retailed in three different variants- Kick Start Spoke, Kick Start Alloy and Electric Start Alloy. The pricing of the bike ranges between Rs 41,760 to Rs 48,291. All price at ex-showroom, Delhi. The motorcycle puts out power from a 100cc engine which makes 7.4 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 7.5 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Moreover, the bike is offered in eight distinctive colour shades.

The bike is retailed in three different variants- Kick Start Spoke, Kick Start Alloy and Electric Start Alloy.

5) TVS Victor

This is the third TVS bike in our list of Bikes with mileage above 80 kmpl. The Victor which is launched along with the launch of TVS Apache RTR200. This model of the bike has been launched by the company to carry forward the Victor legacy. The bike is powered by a 109.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder unit which generates 9.5 bhp of power and 9.4 Nm of twisting force. TVS Victor has three different variants Disc, Drum and premium, which is priced between Rs 57,034 and Rs 58,014 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike is efficient to provide a milage of Rs 76 kmpl.

6) Hero Splendor iSmart

This bike is the most technologically advanced and India's one of the most beloved bikes, the Hero Splendor iSmart. In iSmart tech, the bike automatically gets switched off when it ideally stands for few seconds and turns on as soon as the rider pulls the clutch lever. It gets powered by a 100cc, single-cylinder engine which develops 8.2 bhp of power and 8.05 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 4-speed gearbox. Being offered in two different variants, KS Alloy and ES Alloy priced at Rs 40,750 to Rs 48,282 (ex, showroom, Delhi).

8) Suzuki Hayate EP

The last bike on our list of Bikes with mileage above 80 kmpl is the Suzuki Hayate EP, which was once the most fuel-efficient bike offered by the brand but, the company has discontinued the motorcycle. The bike was efficient enough to provide a mileage of 70 kmpl. It is propelled by 113cc, single-cylinder engine which cranks out 8.6 bhp of power at 7,500 rpm and 9.3 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The engine comes connected to a 4-speed transmission. As per the last records, the bike was priced at Rs 54,603. Moreover, it was only offered in three colour shades namely Pearl Mira Red, Metallic Oort Grey and Glass Sparkle Black.
